Terracotta classical nude study signed and dated MG 1951 Mary Gillick?
Beautifully modeled terracotta classical nude of generous proportions, with a nod to the German and Austrian examples of the 1920's. Signed to the base MG and the date 1951. The figure was purchased from a lady whose friend made this piece suggesting a female artist. Tentatively attributed to Mary Gillick, the creator of the young Queen Elizabeth's profile on the coins of the 1950s. 30 x 12 x 5
