Striking handpainted tapering ceramic dish designed and made by Marcello Fantoni at his workshops in Florence c 1950. The subject is a classical warrior carrying a shield who has been elongated and stylised in a very typical Fantoni manner. Signed to rear and with traces of original price label. No damage, some glaze skips from manufacturing. Nice example of his work. 34 x 12 x 6 cm
