Unusual miniature Akan Ashanti (Ghana) miniature stools in ivory c1930. The ceremonial footstool is an important part of Ashanti culture and highly regarded. These designs were very important in the forming of the Modernist style in France in the 1920s & 30s and influenced designers such as Eileen Gray and Pierre Legrain.
